Love is Louder Than Hate

March 8th is International Women’s Day. It is a day to celebrate the achievements of women all around the world – and a call for equality and inclusiveness. For over a century, this day has been celebrated in countries all over the world. International Women’s Day is an opportunity to continue advocating for positive change in the world. This day is not just for women, it is for anyone who believes and cares about human rights. If you believe in equality for all people, we are asking you to stand with love – because love is louder than hate. Here is what you can do to get involved:

The Violence Against Women Act, also known as VAWA, is an act that seeks to improve the legislation and culture around dating abuse, sexual assault, stalking and domestic violence in the United States. The act not only provides protection to victims and ensures that these crimes will not be tolerated by the criminal justice system, but also offers access to services and resources for a multitude of people affected by these issues, including those of color, the LGBTQ community, and other minorities.

This piece of legislation is bipartisan. No matter what your political views are, protecting those who have experienced rape, assault, stalking or abuse is something that we all believe in. So, in celebration of International Women’s Day and to defend the Violence Against Women Act, we are asking you to use this postcard to write your local representatives. All you have to do is download the postcard template and tell your elected officials why this issue matters to you. No matter who you are, your voice is important and it deserves to be heard!
