The One Love Champions for Healthy Relationships Program is a paid, in-person professional development initiative designed to empower young people (aged 16-24) in Washington D.C (‘24-’25 Academic Year) and the Baltimore Metropolitan Area (Summer 2025) to become advocates for healthy relationships. The program offers participants leadership and professional development workshops, advocacy opportunities, and hands-on community engagement. Stay tuned as we expand the program to One Love regions across the U.S.

What Do Champions Do?

  • Mobilize Peers around Healthy Relationships: Take charge and lead your peers in promoting healthy relationships! You’ll dive into project management by planning events and facilitating impactful activities.
  • Join Forces with Youth Leaders from Around the Country: Work with our staff to support national One Love initiatives, grow your network, and solve challenges together.
  • Represent One Love in their Local Community: Whether you’re hosting a table at events, collaborating with our staff or donors, or taking over our social media, you’ll be representing our mission in fun and meaningful ways.
  • Collaborate with their Local Program Cohort: Hang out with other Champions in your area to share wins, brainstorm improvements, and build strong connections. This is your time to collaborate, support each other, and, of course, have a blast while doing it!

Program Requirements:

  • Commitment: Champions must be available two days a week after school from 4:30 – 7 PM EST for at least one full semester, with one in-person meeting and one virtual session each week. One Love Champions are paid $10-$15 an hour depending on city, location and time commitment.
  • Qualifications: A passion for youth rights, healthy relationships, and making a positive impact on the lives of other young people. Reliable and organized, with a commitment to showing up on time and completing tasks. Able to work well both independently and as part of a team, with a strong interest in learning and leading workshops, outreach efforts, and social media campaigns. Enthusiastic about talking to friends, teachers, and others about the program to encourage their involvement.
