Innovative Workshops Help Youth Recognize Warning Signs of Relationship Abuse and Foster Healthy Connections

One Love Foundation has achieved a major milestone in its mission to prevent relationship abuse, reaching over 3 million people with our powerful, free workshops on relationship health. By educating youth across the country, we are helping them recognize the early warning signs of unhealthy relationships—giving them the tools to seek help and break free before situations escalate to abuse.

Our workshops, typically peer-led by trained facilitators, center around powerful films that portray the warning signs of unhealthy relationships. After viewing the films, participants engage in discussions about the warning signs they witnessed, learning not only how to protect themselves but how to support friends who may be struggling.

“The films are incredibly eye-opening,” says a student from the University of California, Davis. “I was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t identify it until I found One Love. It was the first time I could put words to what I was experiencing. Thanks to the foundation, I was able to leave that relationship and heal.”

In addition to in-person workshops, we offer a comprehensive online library of free films and resources, empowering individuals, educators, coaches, and community leaders to bring these vital lessons to their own communities. Over 109,000 people have completed our facilitator training through the Education Center, enabling the workshops to reach more than 1,500 schools, 1,000 colleges, and 1,440 non-profits nationwide. The workshops are actively reaching students in all 50 states, with new training sessions held every day.

One Love CEO, Julie Myers, is deeply grateful for the support that has helped the organization reach this critical milestone. “We are incredibly thankful for the thousands of passionate volunteers, educators, and organizations that have helped bring this life-saving education to communities across the country. Thanks to your commitment, millions of people now know the signs of unhealthy relationships and how to get help before they escalate to violence.”
