MARYLAND

To end relationship abuse, we need all young people to have access to One Love’s critical education and we can’t do that without the help of lawmakers. That’s why on February 27, 2023, One Love brought 27 student leaders from 17 schools to One Day for One Love in Annapolis.

In honor of National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, One Love student leaders held a meeting with the new Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, Aruna Miller, and were recognized on the House floor by Delegate Joe Vogel of Montgomery County.  Student leaders discussed a new bill, Senate Bill 199, Primary and Secondary Education – Comprehensive Health Education Framework, with the chiefs of staff for Senators Lam and Hettleman. They also established relationships with new delegates such as Delegates North, Allen, and Martinez from Montgomery, Baltimore and Prince Georges counties.

Our goal for this event is to increase the reach of the One Love Foundation curriculum in a non-partisan way across the State of Maryland.
